August 1, 2008 Public Area Pit Pass Area Dear Guests, I regret to announce that effective immediately I have permanently shutdown our forum. Since migrating to their “new” server this past June our web host, Ipower, has claimed that our modest forum has been overloading their server cgi resources. (Oddly, we never encountered any issues on their “old” server which we resided on for many years.) The result being that each time it overloads they shut down essential services on our site which we require to remain fully operational. In an effort to resolve the “perceived” issue they requested that we upgrade the forum to the most recent version, which we accomplished last week. After the upgrade was completed they monitored the site for a week to ensure that everything was running ok, than issued the good housekeeping stamp of approval. This evening I received an email from our host which indicated that the forum was once again overloading their server. And once again, without discussion and after following their direction and receiving their approval, they shut down our services. In an effort to resolve this once and for all I have taken the forum offline and contacted tech support. I expect them to re-enable cgi support at some point during the weekend. I apologize to our guests who are trying to access services on the site which are currently unavailable. - Ed
